How is AI-driven redesign different from classic BPR?

Classic re-engineering redistributed work between people and systems. Today a third executor exists: the AI agent, which handles judgement and variability, not just rules. That changes the design questions (autonomy, oversight, accountability) and the economics (tokens instead of licenses).

How do I justify the redesign financially?

Count the human hours the as-is consumes (volumes × minutes per step), then price the to-be: agent steps cost tokens at real model prices, hybrid steps keep a fraction of the human time, external steps cost nothing. The difference, against a sized implementation effort, gives payback and ROI. The designer computes this automatically.
